“Cumwhitton at War” Exhibition July 2019
Cumwhitton celebrated “Peace Day” with a very well received exhibition in the Village Hall. The event was a conclusion to a project to restore the War Memorial clock at St Mary’s Church and to install a new War Memorial plaque within the Church. The exhibition commemorated those who had lost their lives from within the Parish during both World War One and Two. Memories were recorded, and present day residents added to the exhibition by sharing family war experience details on a series of Post Cards as well as bringing in items that brought stories to life.
